What next after your languages degree?
Want to get career ideas for after your degree? Fifteen graduates of the School’s European languages BA programmes will be back in Leeds to share with you their career experiences and top tips. Find out how alumni are applying their foreign language abilities or other distinctive skills gained during the languages degree and the Year Abroad. Students of all programmes are welcome to attend all sessions!
There will be panels of French (1-2pm), German & Italian (2-3pm), then Spanish & Portuguese (3-4pm) graduates, giving you wide ranging insights into professional life, from the BBC to founding a charity (The Butterfly Project), from international development work (Oxfam projects in Angola) to travel writing (Wowcher), from arts marketing (York Theatre Royal) to setting up in management consultancy (LeggWorkz), from advertising (Ogilvy) to professional services (PwC & EY), from publishing (Arc Publications) to joining the Arriva graduate programme and teaching (TeachFirst & PGCE). Register to attend as many of the panels as you wish using the links below.
Throughout the afternoon many of the graduates will be on hand to offer CV advice (1-4pm). Come along to Michael Sadler LG17 with a printed copy of your CV to get suggestions from industry specialists. No need to register in advance, just drop in.
From 4-5.30pm the networking party is a chance to chat to graduates over drinks and nibbles. Find out their top tips for succeeding in their sector and discover what their daily work actually entails. Register to attend using the link below.
