Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine

Volunteers

museum-training-day-2Volunteers with the Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine have the chance to meet new people, develop their skills and gain valuable experience in a range of areas. These include collections documentation, historical research, object photography, exhibition development, conservation and public engagement, working with a range of audiences including adults and school groups.

No previous museum experience is necessary. We welcome new volunteers all year round to get involved with our on-going activities. Any specific projects currently requiring volunteers will also be advertised below. Please contact Museum-of-HSTM@leeds.ac.uk for more information about these or to discuss developing a project to suit your own interests.

Current projects:

Object photography

We currently require volunteers to photograph objects from our collection, to provide images for our catalogue, website and other publicity.

Collections documentation and historical research

The museum would particularly like to hear from volunteers interested in documenting and researching dentistry, psychology or pathology collections.
