Magic lantern slides added to University’s Digital Library
February 15th, 2014
A selection of lantern slides from the museum’s collection have recently been digitised and made available to view via the University’s new Digital Library. With topics including botany, embryology, astronomy and textiles, the images reflect the diverse use of magic lanterns as teaching tools during the late 19th and early 20th century.
The Museum would like to thank the Scientific Instrument Society for providing financial assistance for this project. Over time we hope to provide digital access to further areas of our collections.
