Clare McCormack, Artist
Clare McCormack studied Fine Art at University of Leeds and Burg Giebichenstein, Germany. During this time she exhibited as part of the Werkleitz Festival for Mexican and European Media Art, Die schöne Stadt, Halle, about:blank, Berlin and PSL Viewing Room, Leeds, as well as in several student-led shows.
After graduating with a first class honours in 2013, one of her degree show pieces was awarded the prestigious 2013 Threadneedle Art Prize, exhibited at the Mall Gallery, London and is now in a private collection.
Her work reflects social and political concerns and is often informed by people and events that are close to her. She is currently working with two other Leeds graduates as Podium Arts Group and we will be presenting new work focussing on art education at Bob and Roberta Smith’s Art Party Conference in Scarborough in November.
