Ben Green, Head of Rights Business Development, BBC
Ben is currently the Head of Rights Business Development at the BBC.
He has played a key strategic role in delivering the rights for the BBC’s new services, including the BBC iPlayer and the BAFTA-winning Creative Archive. More recent projects include many Multiplatform and Archive products such as Wildlife Finder, Your Paintings and the BBC4 online archive Collections, plus Desert Island Discs, Reith Lectures and In Our Time for Radio & Music. External partnerships and public service collaborations include the recent V&A Bowie Is exhibition, Royal Academy/ BBC4 Sculpture Season and the Arts Council/BBC digital arts initiative ‘The Space’.
In the commercial sector, Ben spent some time at BBC Worldwide as their Group Digital Rights Manager, securing rights for the BBC to be the first UK broadcaster to sell TV programmes on iTunes.
Ben studied Theatre Arts at Leeds University (Bretton Hall). Prior to the BBC he produced large-scale professional theatre around the UK, and was also an actors’ agent in Manchester.
