The Pan Arts Seminar Series

This semester, the first Pan-Arts Seminar Series (PASS) was run for undergraduate students from the Faculty of Arts.  Students from Classics, History, French and Theology and Religious Studies met four times, on a fortnightly basis to participate in a seminar run by different Arts PhD students.  The wide-ranging seminar topics included rationing, fire, walls and the city and the aim was to give a broad basis for discussion and sharing across disciplines and departments within the Arts Faculty.

Our seminar at the conference will initially explain the programme and its benefits and then demonstrate a seminar on the theme of ‘identity’.  The seminar will be run by the undergraduate students who were involved in PASS. We will be discussing what makes up identity and how it is expressed throughout history and societies.  Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the theme of identity (and how it relates to their own disciplines) and learn more about the PASS programme.
