Space for Faith? Investigating the Faith Centre at St James’ hospital and how it meets spiritual needs of its users
My research project is investigating a recently opened Multi-Faith Centre at St James’s Hospital here in Leeds, examining how successful it is in meeting the spiritual needs of those it intends to serve, and bringing together a report documenting its planning and continued development, making further suggestions for change. The presentation shall elaborate on why this research project is important, but also highlight the challenges of the project so far. In working with the NHS this scholarship is making links between the TRS department and St James’ hospital for potential studies in future, and also providing useful training for me in gaining ethical clearance. This study will not only be useful for my own academic progression, but will also provide ideas for the continued development of the Faith Centre so that it may be even more useful for those who need it and the wider community.
